Come for Class...
Stay for Community

At TDA, it is our mission enrich children’s lives through joyful, high-quality dance experiences that build confidence, creativity, and character. We’re helping young dancers grow into strong, capable individuals—on the stage and in life.

Miss Melanie began dancing at age 3 and at 12 years old, began dancing at the studio she later became a teacher, and years later, with three young daughters of her own, had the opportunity to purchase!  That studio became Tonawanda Dance Arts—and eventually, TDA.

Previously located on Hinds Street in the City of Tonawanda, Tonawanda Dance Arts grew from 2 classrooms to 3 until they finally moved to their current location at 2311 Military Road in the Town of Tonawanda.

Our current facility boasts over 5,000 square feet of space with 4 fully equipped, air-conditioned studios that have sprung floors and a wireless sound system. All studios contain viewing windows and closed-circuit TVs so you may watch your child dance. We are a Tech-Enabled™ studio, with state of the art live streaming equipment.  All classes are live-streamed directly from our studio, while in-person classes are in session. This also gives parents (and even grandparents) the opportunity and convenience to live-stream their child's dance class and watch it from anywhere! We have plenty of seating in our lobby, a parent workstation, and our building is also fully ADA compliant and accessible.

Tonawanda Dance Arts is proud to be a More Than Just Great Dancing™ affiliated studio, part of a worldwide network committed to high-quality dance education and positive studio experiences. Through MTJGD, we invest in staff training, leadership, and programs that help us create a safe, welcoming environment where dancers grow in confidence, character, and skill.

Tonawanda Dance Arts is committed to keeping kids happy, healthy and safe in dance. All teachers and staff members complete training in CPR, First Aid, dance education and safety, injury prevention, and emergency preparedness. Tonawanda Dance Arts is a Safer Studio™ that prioritizes a hierarchy of safety and wellness measures and all employees are background checked.

Our staff consists of friendly, caring, experienced and professional instructors who strive to make your child’s time at our dance studio an enjoyable and stress-free one.  They are dedicated to ensuring that your child receives the proper training needed for them to reach their full potential in a safe and positive environment. Our goal is to create happy and healthy dancers!

As TDA celebrates its 30th season, Miss Melanie’s daughter, Kelsey, who grew up dancing at TDA and later became a teacher and administrator, officially joined her mom as a partner and co-owner.

From one generation to the next, TDA’s story continues.

We switched my girls over to Tonawanda Dance Arts three years ago, and we wouldn't have it any other way! Even when the studio had to close the speed with which the studio was able to adapt and offer virtual classes was amazing! The staff handles everything professionally and with compassion. We wouldn't trust our kids with anyone else!

My daughter and I LOVE TDA! We have always felt more than welcome walking in the door. Everyone has a smile on their face. The curriculum and costumes are age-appropriate. The staff and instructors are organized and great role models for our youth. Plus we love the live stream during classes so grandparents can watch from afar!

This will be my daughter's second year with TDA and she absolutely loves it! The staff is great, the facility is clean and most importantly all the children are always walking in and out with the brightest smiles! We are excited for another great season of dancing fun!
