Tonawanda Dance Arts offers mini sessions of your student's favorite dance classes for all of the fun, but less commitment than a full season of dance. Whether your student is brand new to TDA and dipping their toes into dance, or is a current student that wants to try a new genre of dance, we offer access to any of our regular classes to try for four weeks! We welcome parents to stay and observe dance classes in-studio, or watch class using our private livestream!

What should my child wear to class?
Dancers can wear comfortable clothing or a leotard and tights. You can purchase dancewear at our dance studio, but please contact us ahead of time to schedule a fitting and make sure that it arrives on time for your first day of class!

Acro students should have bare feet, and tap dance students should wear tap shoes.

When should we arrive for class, and where do we go?
Please arrive a few minutes early to allow time for parking and getting settled. Our parking lot can be busy during peak times! Overflow parking is available to the right of the building. Once you’ve parked, please visit the front desk and they will show you to your classroom!

What should we bring to class?
If your dancer has back-to-back classes, please send them with a labeled dance bag and water bottle. Please store items in the cubbies or on hooks (not on the floor), and label everything!

Can parents watch classes?
Tonawanda Dance Arts welcomes parents to observe classes in-studio at the viewing windows or on the TV monitors. If you want to observe class but can’t stay at the studio, we can share a livestream link for you to join! Please let our staff know if you need a livestream link a few days ahead of your first class.

What if my child is nervous or hesitant?
It’s completely normal for young dancers to be nervous for their first classes! We welcome students to watch class before they join in. Our teachers never force participation and offer gentle encouragement and praise to help students feel comfortable. For Boppin’ Babies and Boppin’ Tots, one parent or guardian may enter the classroom.All adults must remove shoes before entering.

How can I watch my child’s class online?
Please let our staff know ahead of class if you will need a private livestream link to join. Once logged in, please change your display name to include your dancer’s name and relation (e.g., “Sam Smith’s Mom”). Keep your camera off and microphone muted while viewing.

Will my dancer receive anything?
Every dancer receives a fun goodie bag after their first day! Make sure to stop by the front desk to pick it up.

How do we register for regular classes?
Visit our front desk after class to ask questions, meet our team, tour the facility and learn about full-season classes. We’ll help you get started! You can also email us at info@tonawandadancearts.com or call 716-694-3878. We’re always here to help!
